Hailing from Maidstone in Kent, UK, Mark’s production as Lunacy Sound Division caught Tony’s ear in September 2006 when he promptly signed a 4 track EP to his Cubic Records imprint. The 'War Inside My Brain EP' was a superb debut and gained support from a wide spectrum of DJs from Trevor Rockliffe to Nic Fanciulli and was featured in the mix by Tony for his guest spot on Carl Cox's Global Radio show in December 2006. The title track 'War inside my brain' was also featured in Carl Cox's own global chart in the summer of 2007. IDJ said of the release: "We have a second offering from Tony Thomas’ excellent Cubic label. This was a close for contender for ‘tune of the month’ and when you get a chance to hear it, you’ll realize what a tough decision I had. This is a real lo slung, dirty, lazy, groover, perfectly crafted and executed. Nuff said.” After putting out a number of tracks and remixes on Cubic and New Era throughout 2007 in addition to other labels with a similar vibe like Evasive, Adjust and Smartie Partie’s SP Recordings, Mark set up Cubism in partnership with Tony as an output for the kind of vibes that have an impact on them both and which influence their own production for Cubism as a label. The two have since started producing under ‘The Sultans of Sick’ guise with the first release ‘Midweek Pauper’ (where Mark and Tony are also joined by Alan Barratt) is set to drop and cause mayhem on Cubism in early 2009. Mark’s fingerprints can be found on almost every release so far on Cubism with his trademark tech house remixes. His Lunacy Sound Division remix of Rhythm Code’s “Don’t Stop” sat pretty at No 1 in the DJ Download Tech House chart for almost all of January 2008. This January the second Lunacy Sound Division release on Cubism, tech house tracks ‘Shroom Juice’ and ‘Potions & Lotions’. With cool remixes by Jon Gurd, Rhythm Code, Mike Healey, Nelsk and The Sultans of Sick this EP is set to cause reverberations on the floors and is already gaining support from many different corners. In addition to all of this Mark will be busy on the production front throughout 2009 working on various cool collaborations with Mike Healey, Greg Clifford, Tony Thomas, Alan Barratt, Asher Jones & Rick Nicholls and also remixes and original material for Evasive, Killawatt, New Era, Cubic & of course Cubism. Mark has also graced the decks at clubs and promotions like Turnmills, The Key, Aquarium, Egg, The Loft, 54, Eden (Ibiza) Kanya (Ibiza) Empire (Brisbane, Australia), Undercurrent, Club Class, Futurism, Rave in the Caves, Mode, The Source Bar and many other parties, gatherings and random nights with DJs such as Caged Baby, Sam Ball, Paul Ritch, Silver City, Tony Thomas, Rhythm Code, Perc, Rick Nicholls, Dave Robertson, Sebastien Leger, Jim Rivers, Mike Healey, Alex Ellenger, Luke Solomon, and Serge Santiago.
