The Sultans of Sick first appeared on Shiva Records in early 2008 with the shuddering track 'Sickness', an experimental first track written between Cubism partners Tony Thomas and Mark Gwinnett. Having just set up the Cubism label it was only a matter of time before Tony and Mark worked together in the studio. The second collaboration between the two friends comes in the form of 'Midweek Pauper', a track written exclusively for Cubism and ready to drop in early 2009. Tony and Mark were joined on this track by Tony's great friend Alan Barratt whose collaborations as The Producers is well documented over the years with their releases on the duo's awesome New Era label. The idea for The Sultans of Sick tracks and remixes is simple, to make wonky, twisted electronica without confirming to any rules! The tracks are literally born from having fun in the studio. Remixes so far include Kamuki's 'City Lights', Lunacy Sound Division's 'Shroom Juice' both for Cubism and also the LSD laced rerub of Funk Head Fred & Matty Wells' 'In my drink' released on Cubic. As Cubism continues to unleash cool dance music onto the scene expect to hear a lot more weird and wonderful rhythms from The Sultans of Sick as Mark and Tony continue to have fun with the music. That's what it’s all about.
